Who they are: The Klaxons are a British alternative rock band. "Alternative rock" is a broad term. We would describe them as more of an almost-psychedelic new rave. They were formed in 2005 by Jamie Reynolds (singer, bass), James Righton (keyboards, vocals), and Simon Taylor-Davis (guitars) and most recently have been joined by Steffan Halperin (drums). In 2006 a debut single, "Gravity's Rainbow". Their debut album, Myths of the Near Future, won the Mercury Prize (for those unfamiliar - it is an annual award given for the best album from the United Kingdom and Ireland).
Why we love them: We think that the band is going to be big. And this is because of their unique music style. There is something about about it which makes you want to jump, dance, and go crazy. Also, their live performances are a MUST SEE. They have one of the most energetic live shows out there. And we have heard a yet-unconfirmed rumor that they are going to be coming to the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas to expand their popularity to the US markets. And we hope to see them here!
Update: They are now a confirmed rumor! Which really makes it a fact. not a rumor.

Wow. Never heard of them before, but was really really impressed by Echoes. Will put Klaxons on my list of bands to follow.
