Who they are: Angry Vs The Bear are an upcoming British electro-funk-pop band, composed of Mitzi Fox, MC Freak, Baron Darker, and Neville de Lonsense. They are a relatively new band (formed about 8 months ago) but are spreading quickly in popularity in Europe and we expect a transition to America's radios and music charts soon. They have already showcased here in Austin, Texas at the international South By Southwest Music Festival. Currently they are unsigned, but we are sure that will change soon (unless they decide to stay independent). They are currently working on their debut album with the Grammy award-winning, Simon Gogerly. Their song "I Sing, We Sing" has been a great hit, even being featured in January on Best of Myspace Podcast and have 2 more songs on their MySpace page.
Why we love them: After finding them completely by accident on MySpace, we fell in love with them at first site (pun). They don't just sound hip and funky, but they're looks match their music exactly. Their over-hairsprayed do's, their flashy glasses, their whole style is absolutely fantastic. Mitzi Fox, the lead singer has a unique and eccentric voice that sticks in your mind long after you've listened to their tunes.
Why they are going to be big: First off, because they are the self-proclaimed "Leaders of the Space Punk Movement". If that's not enough for you, it is also because their songs appeal to not only those who like pop songs but also to those who like indie rock, electro, techno, and just catchy songs you can dance to. We caught a glimpse of them at South By Southwest and even before they start playing a note, they get your attention. And when they do start playing, you'll be jumping and dancing the night away. In a day and age where musicians are struggling to find that unique style to set them apart from everybody else, Angry Vs The Bear have found what makes them stand out, and they will be huge. And they have told us that they cannot wait to come back to America to tour here again.
Albums/Labels: Their debut album is coming soon (and we can't wait for it)/currently unsigned.
